One of the main challenges for producers of nuts crops is to maintain tree productivity and to ensure optimal flower set and nut production. Many nut crops are susceptible to Zinc deficiency and foliar applications of Orbit Zinc or Indiplex Zinc immediately post harvest, repeated at the late dormant stage will ensure adequate supplies. For reliable flowering and early fruit set boron is an essential element.

The timing of foliar sprays of Orbit or Indiplex Boron is critical. Late dormant sprays (just prior to bud swell through to 20% bud break), are the most effective, later sprays effectively increase tissue levels but may not enhance current year fruit yield or quality.

If trees are under environmental stress at the time of flowering they may well fail to set fruit properly. Applications of the organic based products Joust and ProtaPlex have shown to reduce the effects of stress and so lead to increased set and subsequent higher yield. There is evidence that repeat applications of Orbit K Ultra, starting at the end of fruit set, improve the nut quality (fruit weight and percentage of split nuts).

Ornamentals, including those for cut flower production will benefit from products that increase bloom size and shelf-life. Datum Ca, applied at budding and repeated every 14 days will improve flower size and stem weight leading to significantly higher returns to the grower.

Nurseries that are propagating young ornamental plants will benefit for applications of Numerica formulations which will increase the plants natural resistance to diseases such as Downy Mildew. This can also be useful to suppress diseases in cut flower Rose production and has also been shown to increase bulb weight in Lily and Tulip crops.
