Our Soil Analysis Service

Indigrow offer a soil analysis service. This service is designed to help our trained experts strike the correct balance of fertilisers for your soil. To understand the nutritional status of the soil it is important that regular soil samples are taken. Soil Sampling will:

• Highlight inherent fertility in the soil

• Determine if current fertiliser is altering the base level of nutrients

• Test soil pH

 
Two types of analysis are offered:

Standard Analysis – pH, P, K, Mg, Ca and soil textural class

Comprehensive Analysis – pH, P, K, Mg, Ca and soil textural class. Available Na, Cu, Zn, Mn, Fe, Sulphate, Conductivity, Exchangeable Cations with CEC, Organic Matter

The soil analysis kits contain:

• Instructions on how to take the samples and plastic bags to put the samples in

• Relevant forms to record what type of sample and where it is from

• A postage paid envelope (UK only)

Effective Testing

• Read pack carefully

• For most effective results, sample in early spring

• Ensure clean, dry equipment

• Clearly number and label samples and complete all paperwork before returning

• If you notice a problem with your turf, resample

• Do not test directly after applying fertiliser

To ensure accurate, impartial results, Indigrow have retained the services of the Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI, Bingley) to undertake our analysis in their laboratory. The STRI has a licence from the UK authorities to import and analyse samples from outside the UK, but in these cases the cost of carriage has to be paid.
