Magnum Forty-Four OneShot – Concentrated Penetrant Wetting Agent
Airdrie Golf Club
In the early part of 2020, there were periods of excessive rainfall. Scott McKnight, Head Greenkeeper at Airdrie Golf Club, was measuring in excess of 50mm rainfall regularly. Even using just 1 sachet/ha of Magnum Forty-Four OneShot, Scott was able to notice his greens were drier and firmer after heavy rainfall. He has since added Magnum Forty-Four OneShot to his regular application programme when heavy rainfall is expected, which has maintained the drier and firmer nature of his greens throughout the year.
The Buckinghamshire Golf Club
Magnum Forty-Four OneShot was also used this year by Iain Hardaker, Head Greenkeeper at The Buckinghamshire Golf Club. He utilised the low application rate of 2 sachet/ha of Magnum Forty-Four OneShot to help with water management on his fairways. Used in combination with Compass Bio-Active OneShot and Fusion Liquid Fe, Iain told us that “this combination of products really has made our fairways sing, and the added bonus is how easy the OneShot application sachets are to add to a tank mix”.
Kingsdown Golf Club
Whilst 2020 saw some periods of excess rainfall, there were also periods of continual drought. Mark Simmons, Head Greenkeeper at Kingsdown Golf Club, utilised Magnum Forty-Four OneShot in a tank mix with Compass Bio-Active OneShot, along with an application of soluble urea. Mark timed his application to perfection, just before 90mm of rain fell, which really did help make a difference to the colour achieved.
The Worcestershire Golf Club
Steve Lloyd, Head Greenkeeper at The Worcestershire Golf Club, has been using products from the OneShot range for several years.
Steve told us; “we are on a clay site and during hot spells of weather we find our fairways burn off very quickly so we’ve been using the OneShot range of products to help with recovery from dry weather for the past 3 years.
Steve makes monthly applications of Magnum Forty-Four OneShot at 4 sachets/ha in a tank mix with Compass Bio-Active OneShot at 2 sachets/ha from June to September. He has noted that “any burn up is much less than it was before, and we have found that as soon as we get even a little bit of rain the recovery and green up is almost overnight”.
Whilst the results of the products are clear to see, Steve also praised the environmental credentials of the OneShot range; “The OneShot products are also very easy to use and we have so much less packaging to dispose of. An added bonus is that they don’t take up much room when being stored. I would recommend the OneShot products to anyone”.
